Webinar: Coffee & Collegiality: Cultivating Positive and Welcoming Departmental Cultures
Date and Time: Friday, September 17, 2021 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm U.S. Eastern Time
Many of us have spent most if not all of this past year working remotely and away from our campuses and offices. Our contacts with colleagues are meetings on Zoom, Teams, or WebEx. Some people, hired during the pandemic, have not even met colleagues in person.
Are we prepared to return to in-person interactions at work?
We all want to feel welcome, appreciated, and valued when we show up at work. Instead of assuming that someone else is doing the work of shaping our department culture, building a sense of community, and sustaining a healthy workplace, each of us can (and probably should) contribute to this shared resource.
Today, we would like to hear from you. What practices have YOU seen or experienced that have contributed positively to a welcoming workplace culture? How have YOU been recognized as a valuable member of your departmental team?
We will be using breakout rooms in today’s session to encourage discussion. We have invited a group of colleagues, with whom we would personally love to chat with over coffee, who will each join a break out room to facilitate this conversation.
